​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, participated on 13 November, in the annual celebration of Arab Document Day, held under the theme “The League of Arab States: Eighty Years of Joint Arab Action.” The event was organised by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in coordination with the Arab Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ARBICA). A number of distinguished figures in the field of documentation from across the Arab world attended the celebration.

​At the invitation of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice held its 41st session on 12 November under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Sudan. The 75th meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice convened on 11 November under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

Japan confers upon Aboul Gheit the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun

​At a grand ceremony held at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador and attended by a large gathering of diplomats and family members, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, was awarded on 11 November the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. The decoration was conferred upon him by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in recognition of his distinguished contributions to bolstering cooperation between Egypt and Japan during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as for his efforts in advancing Arab-Japanese relations and launching the Arab-Japanese political dialogue at the ministerial level during his tenure as Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received on 11 November Mr. Ramiz Akbarov, Deputy Special Coordinator of the United Nations for the Middle East Peace Process and Humanitarian Coordinator, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme, at the League’s headquarters.

League Mission follows up on Egypt's parliamentary elections on first day of voting

​Ambassador Hussein Al-Hindawi, head of the League of Arab States' Mission to Monitor the Parliamentary Elections in the Arab Republic of Egypt, conducted a field visit on the first day of voting. During his visit, he inspected several polling stations and committees in Giza governorate to observe the electoral process. Meanwhile, mission teams were deployed across various constituencies in other governorates to monitor the voting procedures.

General Secretariat convenes 38th meeting of Council of Arab Ministers of Transport

​The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States – Technical Secretariat of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport – organised the 38th meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Transport, in coordination with the Ministry of Transport of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Al-Manara International Conference Centre in Cairo on 10 November.
