Born in Morocco in 1951 Ambassador Dr. Badr al-Din Alali holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Hassan II University (Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco) and a PhD in Economics from the University of Paris (Pantheon-Sorbonne). He is married with two children. Dr. Badr Al-Din Al-Alali was appointed as Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Social Affairs Sector in December 2014. His Excellency held several positions, most notably the Director of the Moroccan Academy for Diplomatic Studies (2011-2014), the Director of Asian and Oceania Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Morocco (2000-2008). He also served as Director of the Islamic Center for Trade Development of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during the period 1991-2000. Currently Ambassador Dr. Badr al-Din Alali serves as the Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Head of the Media and Communication Sector. |
