​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, warned of the grave consequences of the Israeli occupation’s expanded ground offensive on Gaza City. He stressed that the assault constitutes a new and extremely dangerous chapter in the genocide Israel has been waging in Gaza for two years. He condemned, in the strongest terms, the occupation’s clear attempts to force the Palestinian people in Gaza to abandon their homeland under the threat of death or starvation, implementing a displacement scenario rejected by Arab and international powers and in violation of international law and all humanitarian norms.

​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, welcomed the adoption of a roadmap to resolve the crisis in the Syrian city of Sweida, grounded in the unity of Syrian territory and the principle of full equality among citizens in rights and duties. Mr. Aboul Gheit commended the efforts of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, particularly its Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, in facilitating this settlement by hosting the Amman meeting, which brought together Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani and United States Special Envoy Thomas Barrack.
