League Mission follows up on Egypt's parliamentary elections on first day of voting

​Ambassador Hussein Al-Hindawi, head of the League of Arab States' Mission to Monitor the Parliamentary Elections in the Arab Republic of Egypt, conducted a field visit on the first day of voting. During his visit, he inspected several polling stations and committees in Giza governorate to observe the electoral process. Meanwhile, mission teams were deployed across various constituencies in other governorates to monitor the voting procedures.

​The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Social Affairs Sector – Women's Department) is holding a regional dialogue session on 10 November via a digital platform, entitled "Starvation as a Weapon of War: The Israeli Siege and Aggression and its Repercussions on Women in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territories." The session is part of the implementation of the Emergency Committee's Action Plan for the Protection of Women during Armed Conflicts in the Arab Region (2025–2028), adopted by the Ministerial-Level Committee on Women at its 44th session in 2025, in cooperation with the Ministry of Women's Affairs of the State of Palestine and the UN Women Regional Office for the Arab States.

Head of Media and Communication Sector participates in third edition of Egypt Media Forum

​His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector, participated in a dialogue session titled "Gaza: Coverage Continues," held as part of the third edition of the Egypt Media Forum. League to monitor Iraq's 2025 parliamentary elections

​n response to an invitation extended to His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, by the Independent High Electoral Commission of the Republic of Iraq regarding the League’s participation in monitoring the Iraqi parliamentary elections scheduled for 11 November, and in line with the League’s commitment to monitoring elections in its member states, as well as its dedication to supporting and strengthening democracy, consolidating good governance, and ensuring the proper conduct of elections, His Excellency the Secretary-General directed the dispatch of a League mission headed by Ambassador Dr. Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General. The mission comprises several staff members from the General Secretariat representing five Arab nationalities to monitor this important electoral event.

​An invitation was extended to His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, by Counsellor Hazem Badawi, Chairman of the National Elections Authority, regarding the League’s participation in monitoring the 2025 Egyptian parliamentary elections. In line with the League’s commitment to following electoral processes in its member states and its keenness to support and strengthen the democratic process, promote good governance, and ensure the smooth conduct of elections, His Excellency the Secretary-General directed the formation of a League mission headed by Ambassador Hussein Al-Hindawi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Financial and Administrative Control Sector, to monitor the elections. The mission includes a group of observers from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, representing several Arab nationalities.
