Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, the training course on “The Role of International Negotiations in Restoring and Building Peace” was inaugurated this morning at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
The course, organised by the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries under the supervision of Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Fund, is attended by 32 Sudanese government officials representing various ministries.
The opening session included the participation of His Excellency Ambassador Lieutenant General Engineer Emad El-Din Mustafa Adawi, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sudan to the League of Arab States, and Ambassador Khaled El-Shazly, Deputy Secretary-General of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development. Several specialised ambassadors from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are also participating in the course. Foremost among them are former Assistant Foreign Minister Mohamed Badr El-Din Zayed, former Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Salah Halima, and Minister Plenipotentiary Tamer Azzam, reflecting the coordinated efforts to ensure the programme’s success and the fulfillment of its training objectives.
The Secretary-General’s patronage and inauguration of this session highlight the League of Arab States' commitment to supporting Sudan in its pursuit of peace and stability. His presence conveys the significance of this training programme at this pivotal moment for Sudan and its contribution to regional and international efforts aimed at building sustainable peace. The programme further demonstrates the League of Arab States' dedication to equipping Sudanese personnel with the expertise required in international negotiation and peacebuilding, thereby strengthening their capacity to advance the national agenda and realise the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
