Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, arrived in Madrid on 13 September following the invitation he had received from the Spanish government in light of efforts to boost cooperation with Spain, a prominent European Union country active on the international stage.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesman of the Secretary-General, stated that Mr. Aboul Gheit will hold a working session with Spanish Foreign Minister José Albares. The meeting is expected to tackle several issues of mutual concern, including the recent developments on the regional and international arenas, especially in the Middle East, in addition to ways to cement economic, trade, and investment relations between Arab countries and Spain.
