The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, through its Department of Sustainable Development and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, commemorates the "Arab World Day for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development of Arab Universities" at the General Secretariat headquarters on 16 September.
The conference features two sessions: the first focuses on the role of United Nations organisations and non-governmental entities in educational planning during crises, while the second explores the digital transformation of community leadership initiatives across the Arab region, including future visions. Additionally, the event is honouring several distinguished guests.
The conference will also mark the launch of the Arab Network for Social Responsibility in Universities, alongside the announcement of the conditions and criteria for the Arab Award for Social Responsibility in Universities.
Attendees include His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, representatives from UN Habitat, UNRWA, the President of Al-Quds University, the United Nations Volunteers Programme, the President of the Islamic University in Lebanon, Sohar University from the Sultanate of Oman, the Governor of Tathleeth Governorate in the Emirate of Asir, Qassim University for Business Development and Community Partnership, and the United Arab Emirates University.
