Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Minister Cao Shumin, Chairwoman of the National Radio and Television Administration and Deputy Director of the Information Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China at the headquarters of the League on 11 May. The minister was accompanied by a high-level delegation on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Gamal Roshdi, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that Mr. Aboul Gheit commended the longstanding and evolving friendship between the Arab world and the People’s Republic of China. He highlighted the notable progress achieved since the establishment of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum in 2004, which has grown to encompass a wide array of sectors including development, economics, politics, and media.
The spokesperson further noted that the meeting addressed a range of issues of mutual concern, with particular emphasis on advancing Arab-Chinese collaboration in the media sector. Discussions included the development of joint radio and television productions and the strengthening of cooperative news coverage efforts.
