Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned the Israeli attack on civilian residential buildings in Doha, the capital of Qatar, for which Israel has claimed responsibility.
Gamal Roshdy, the Secretary-General’s Spokesperson, stated that this assault constitutes a blatant and unacceptable violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He added that since the beginning of the war in Gaza, Qatar—along with Egypt and the United States—has undertaken sincere and commendable efforts to mediate a ceasefire, striving to end the war of annihilation that Israel continues to wage in Gaza.
He further affirmed that the League of Arab States stands in full solidarity with Qatar in the face of this flagrant aggression against its sovereignty and will support any measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty and ensure its security.
The spokesperson stressed that Israel’s conduct has now exceeded all recognised international norms and principles of international law, placing a direct responsibility on the international community to confront a state that openly defies the law and disregards the consequences of its heinous actions.
