The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemns the recently circulated Israeli plans aimed at confining Palestinians to a small camp in the southern Gaza Strip.
The General Secretariat stresses that this so-called “humanitarian city,” as described by the occupying power, bears no relation to humanity or civility.
The League of Arab States affirms that this plan—rejected both in form and substance—reflects a further moral and ethical decline on the part of the occupation and reveals a deliberate intention to continue its policy of ethnic cleansing, reoccupy the Gaza Strip, and potentially prepare it for settlement expansion.
The General Secretariat calls on the international community to confront such inhumane schemes with the necessary urgency and resolve, as they evoke the darkest chapters of the twentieth century—chapters the world had vowed never to repeat. It stresses that what is urgently required is the achievement of a ceasefire agreement, and for Israel to cease obstructing progress and manufacturing obstacles to delay or prevent its implementation.
