A delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, headed by His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Mustafa Fahmy, head of the League of Arab States Mission in Beijing, participated in the 7th China-Arab States Expo, held in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, from 28 to 31 August under the theme "Friendship, Cooperation, and Win-Win Development".
The Expo is one of the most important economic events organised within the framework of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, which has been held since 2009 to promote Arab-Chinese cooperation in all areas of common interest. The Expo serves as a bridge and provides favourable conditions for exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Arab companies, significantly enhancing trade, economic, and investment ties between China and Arab countries. It also represents a major opportunity for the public and private sectors in Arab countries to maximise economic, trade, and investment cooperation with China, while fully leveraging China's Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative to support economic development in Arab states. This, in turn, is expected to strengthen ties between the Arab and Chinese peoples and achieve mutual benefit.
A large number of senior officials from both sides took part in the exhibition, along with the ambassadors of Arab countries to China, representatives of several international organisations, major and medium-sized financial institutions, chambers of commerce and industry, and Arab and Chinese businessmen and entrepreneurs.
A series of events and activities were held on the sidelines of the exhibition, addressing several areas of mutual interest, most notably:
1. The China-Arab Business Forum for Economic and Trade Exchange within the Framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
2. Six specialised exhibitions covering the digital economy, cross-border e-commerce, clean energy, technology and agriculture, artificial intelligence and the electronic gaming industry, green development, and smart meteorology, in addition to a dedicated space for distinctive goods.
3. Several forums exploring opportunities for cooperation in fields such as technology transfer, water resources, tourism, modern technologies, and intellectual property.
A number of economic deals and joint agreements are expected to be signed, contributing to the expansion of Arab-Chinese trade and investment. Both sides also look forward to supporting and encouraging future economic and investment cooperation through the outcomes of this exhibition.
