His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector, stated that the proceedings of the seventh Arab-China Media Forum, which concluded in Chongqing, were conducted in an atmosphere of constructive and professional dialogue. He commended the recommendations included in the final statement issued by the forum.
He noted that the forum has become a genuine platform for dialogue, exchange, and the promotion of innovation in the audiovisual field, as well as for the exchange of media content and learning from China’s advanced experience in technological, digital, and artificial intelligence applications. He also highlighted the diversity and richness of the forum’s record, which includes more than 50 agreements and cooperation programmes in various media fields.
Ambassador Khattabi reaffirmed the commitment of the Media and Communication Sector and the National Administration of Radio and Television of the People’s Republic of China to following up on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides in December 2023, with a renewed and forward-looking vision aligned with their shared aspirations. He affirmed that this cooperation reinforces the role of the media in advancing the comprehensive path of the Arab-Chinese strategic partnership, particularly within the framework of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum. He also praised the distinguished organisational efforts of the Administration and the Government of Chongqing in ensuring the success of this session.
