    Date: 23/11/2025

At the behest of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the League of Arab States participated in the meetings of the Donors Group for Palestine, held in Brussels, Belgium, at both the senior officials and ministerial levels.

The League’s delegation was headed by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector. The delegation also included His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Jawad Kazem Hindawi, head of the League’s Mission in Brussels, and Ms. Sharifa Shoudar, First Secretary at the Mission.

Representatives from more than 60 countries and international organisations took part in the meetings, convened at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels. Participants included the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, and the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Stephan Salameh, along with the foreign ministers of several European states.

In his address on behalf of the General Secretariat, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Faed Mustafa reaffirmed the League’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause. He conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the Secretary-General, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, affirming that supporting the Palestinian people at present is simultaneously a principled, moral, and political imperative. He underscored the need for the conference to send a clear message that the international community will not stand idle in the face of measures aimed at suffocating the Palestinian economy and depriving the government of its legitimate resources. He stressed that providing urgent support to Palestine under the current circumstances is not only a humanitarian responsibility, but also an investment in regional stability and in broadening the prospects for peace—prospects that cannot be realised so long as oppressive measures and political and economic pressures persist.
