  • General Secretariat participates in 14th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum

    ​In support of ongoing cooperation between the General Secretariat and the Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Affairs Sector, headed by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs at the League of Arab States, participated in the opening of the 14th Arab-Hellenic Economic Forum, held on 27-28 November in Athens, Greece.

    The Forum serves as a high-level platform for strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Arab countries and the Hellenic Republic in strategic sectors such as construction, renewable energy, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, infrastructure development and logistics.

    In his opening remarks, Ambassador Al-Maliki underscored the pivotal role of the League of Arab States in advancing Arab-Greek economic integration and outlined key investment opportunities. He also highlighted the League's efforts to prepare a new Arab Investment Agreement aimed at promoting intra-Arab investment in line with the latest international standards.

    His Excellency further addressed the regional and humanitarian context, referring to the situation in Palestine and the efforts of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Conference to achieve a ceasefire. He stressed the need to support economic development alongside political stability to achieve sustainable development.

    The Forum brings together senior officials, business leaders and investors from Arab countries and Greece to explore ways to deepen economic partnership, exchange expertise and develop joint projects that contribute to sustainable development for both sides.
