He received his BA in political science from King Saud University in Riyadh in 1990.
He holds an MA in International Relations and a Diploma in International Political Economy from the University of Pittsburgh, USA in 1993.
He received his doctorate in political science from Warwick University in Britain in 1999.
After graduating from the Saudi Ministry of Interior (Department of Administrative Development), he was appointed to the Department of Political Science at King Abdulaziz University in 2003.
His scientific research focused on issues of regional security, political development, and Arab and international relations. He published a number of published scientific researches, and his last book was entitled "Security and Security Policy Making" (in English) in 2010.
He writes opinion articles in the newspapers Okaz, Life and the Middle East, and appears on Arab television channels to comment on regional political and economic issues.
Participated in a large number of regional and international conferences, both official and scientific.
He was appointed in February 2010 as Advisor to the Secretary General of the League of Arab States.
Coordinator of the Arab Cooperation Forum, Assistant to the Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Department of Asia and Australia.
Appointed in March 2017 as Assistant Secretary-General for International Political Affairs.
Participated in the work of the League of Arab States in all meetings of the Council of the League at various levels: delegates, ministers and the summit.
