I would like to welcome the visitors of the website of the League of Arab States. Since its establishment in 1945, the League of Arab States has been the long-standing organisation that is home to all Arab countries and peoples. The League’s mission is to make every sincere effort for the progress and prosperity of our Arab nation: the nation which has significantly contributed to humanity, in light of its historical, civilisational and cultural specificity, diversity and richness, entitling it to be among the leading nations, providing its societies with the highest levels of stability, prosperity and development so that all its citizens can enjoy their full rights and fulfil their duties towards the Arab society. I have the pleasure to call upon all those interested in learning more about the path and activities of our Joint Arab Action to contribute to the League of Arab States’ enablement for a better future for Arab nations and peoples.

	Japan confers upon Aboul Gheit the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun 11/11/2025
	At a grand ceremony held at the residence of the Japanese Ambassador and attended by a large gathering of diplomats and family members, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, was awarded on 11 November the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. The decoration was conferred upon him by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan in recognition of his distinguished contributions to bolstering cooperation between Egypt and Japan during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as for his efforts in advancing Arab-Japanese relations and launching the Arab-Japanese political dialogue at the ministerial level during his tenure as Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.

	Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received on 11 November Mr. Ramiz Akbarov, Deputy Special Coordinator of the United Nations for the Middle East Peace Process and Humanitarian Coordinator, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardari, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Programme, at the League’s headquarters.
