Ambassador Dr. Khalid bin Muhammad Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the International Political Affairs Sector, received His Excellency Georgy Borisenko, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in his office at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on 10 December.
This meeting is part of the ongoing efforts to finalise preparations for the sixth session of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum, scheduled to convene in Marrakesh, the Kingdom of Morocco, on 20 December. Discussions during the meeting included reviewing and refining draft documents slated for release during the session.
Ambassador Manzalawi said the recent positions and initiatives undertaken by the Russian Federation on the political stage, particularly concerning Arab issues, notably the Palestinian question underscore Russia's growing interest in deepening collaborations with the Arab world. Dr. Manzalawi emphasised the importance of maintaining and enhancing mechanisms for cooperation with the Russian Federation. He expressed his hope that the sixth session of the forum would yield ambitious and effective results, aligning with the shared aspirations of both the Arab and Russian sides.
