Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, flew to New York to participate in the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which is being held from 28 to 30 July under the joint presidency of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France.
Gamal Roshdy, the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated that the League of Arab States is participating in the conference as co-chair—alongside the European Union—of the Eighth Working Group, which focuses on peace-related efforts. This group aims to develop a comprehensive package of political, economic, and security support for the Palestinian state within the framework of the two-state solution, with the participation of a wide range of United Nations member states, international and regional organisations, UN specialised agencies, and civil society organisations.
