Ambassador Mohannad Saleh Lajouzi, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Director-General of the Arab Fund for Technical Assistance to African Countries, visited the headquarters of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development in the New Administrative Capital of Cairo on 11 September. During the visit, he met with Ambassador Nermine El-Zawahri, Director-General of the Agency, to extend his congratulations on her assumption of office.
At the outset, Ambassador Lajouzi conveyed his warm congratulations and best wishes to Ambassador El-Zawahri, expressing confidence that her diplomatic experience and distinguished career would further strengthen the Agency's role as a leading institution in advancing African cooperation and knowledge exchange. He underscored the vital contribution of the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development in reflecting Egypt's steadfast commitment to African development and to building the capacities of sister African nations.
The discussions also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between the Fund and the Agency, particularly in the fields of training and human resource development, in line with their shared commitment to supporting Africa's development priorities and delivering tangible added value to member states.
For her part, Ambassador El-Zawahri expressed her appreciation for Ambassador Lajouzi's kind gesture and commended the Fund's role in providing technical assistance and strengthening African capacities. She affirmed the Agency's commitment to further consolidating its cooperation with the Fund in the period ahead.
The visit concluded with both sides agreeing to continue coordination and intensify joint efforts to advance Arab-African cooperation and support the achievement of sustainable development goals across the continent.
