    Date: 30/10/2025

In implementation of Resolution 491 of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, adopted at its 52nd Ordinary Session on 22 September 2022 in Cairo, concerning Libya's hosting of the International Arab Media Dialogue Forum, the event is scheduled to take place on 11 and 12 December 2025 in Tripoli. The forum will bring together ministers, heads of organisations and unions with observer status at the Ministerial Council, media and diplomatic figures, opinion leaders, and influencers.

In this context, His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector, received a Libyan delegation led by Mr. Murad Al-Issawi, Advisor to the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs in the Government of National Unity, in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Abdul-Muttalib Thabit, Permanent Representative of Libya to the League of Arab States.

During the meeting, the detailed programme for this important media event was reviewed, including the opening session and the thematic structure of the forum which will focus on media support for the Palestinian cause in light of current developments, the foundations of Arab identity and media content creation, the development of Arab media professionals—especially in keeping pace with technological and digital transformations—and the applications of artificial intelligence in the media sector. The meeting also addressed the draft recommendations that will conclude the forum's proceedings, to be submitted for approval by the Council of Arab Information Ministers at a future session.

The International Arab Media Dialogue Forum, which will coincide with the official opening of the Libyan National Museum on 12 December 2025, will feature leading experts in media, content creation, and artificial intelligence. Discussions will explore optimal approaches to promoting a unified Arab image and establishing mechanisms to implement a comprehensive media strategy aimed at strengthening Arab identity and highlighting the region's cultural and civilisational heritage.
