  • General Secretariat convenes ninth session of Provisional Executive Council of Arab-African Cultural Institute

    ​The ninth session of the Provisional Executive Council of the Arab-African Cultural Institute is being held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States from on 1-2 December. Participants include representatives from the Department of Africa and Arab-African Cooperation, the Department of Culture and Dialogue of Civilisations, the African Union Commission, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), the Arab-African Cultural Institute, and the League of Arab States Mission in Addis Ababa.

    The session highlights the importance of bolstering the role of the Arab-African Cultural Institute as the sole institution established as an official body between the two organisations. Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Bamako, Mali, the Institute seeks to advance Arab-African cultural cooperation. Participants are also discussing the Institute’s pivotal role in fostering Arab-African cultural relations, reviewing its administrative and financial reports, examining its activities for 2025–2026, and assessing its financial, security, and administrative status.

    The session has agreed that the 10th session of the Provisional Executive Council of the Arab-African Cultural Institute will be held in the first quarter of 2026 at the headquarters of ALECSO in Tunis.
