    The Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, met on Sunday 15th a media delegation from the United Arab Emirates, headed by Mrs. Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office and President of the Dubai Press Club.

    Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, met on Sunday with a media delegation from the United Arab Emirates, headed by Mrs. Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office and President of the Dubai Press Club, accompanied by Mr. Dirar Belhoul, Director General of Watani Emirates and a group of media professionals and journalists.

    An official source at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States said that the meeting came within the framework of organizing and preparing for events, the delegation handed the Secretary General an invitation to attend the 19th session of the Arab Media Forum to be held in March 2020 under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

    The source added that Aboul Gheit also reviewed with the UAE delegation all issues on the Arab arena and the challenges faced by many Arab countries, pointing in particular to the important role played by the media in directing public opinion and spreading awareness of various issues. He noted in this regard the great importance of the Arab Media Charter of Honor, which represents an ethical and professional constitution that the media should bear in mind.​
