H.E. Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, left Cairo Wednesday, 23 November, for Barcelona to participate in the 7th Regional Forum of the Union for the Mediterranean. The works of the event will start on Thursday under the joint chairmanship of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain.
The spokesman of the Arab League's Secretary-General, Jamal Rushdie, said that Aboul Gheit's participation comes within the framework of his interest to develop cooperation and coordination mechanisms between the League of Arab States and influential international and regional entities in a way that reflects positively on Arab interests.
