The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States conducted a coordination meeting at the level of permanent representatives of the Arab countries upon the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 24 May. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the second ministerial meeting between the Arab countries and the countries of the Pacific Islands, which is scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 11 to 16 June 2023.
Chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Abdullah Musa Al-Tayer, Adviser at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multiple International Affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the coordination meeting saw the participation of the delegation of the General Secretariat, headed by His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Khaled bin Mohamed Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector. The participants discussed the arrangements for the preparation and organisation of the upcoming ministerial meeting.
The first ministerial meeting between the Arab countries and the countries of the Pacific Islands took place in June 2010 in the United Arab Emirates.
